Knights MPR Expands Senior Advisory Team with Appointment of Anthea Pitt

Knights MPR Strengthens Global Energy and Sustainability Communications Capability with Appointment of Anthea Pitt

Knights Media & Public Relations (Knights MPR) has announced the appointment of Anthea Pitt as Associate Consultant – Global, further strengthening the agency’s strategic communications offering across energy, maritime, industrial and sustainability-focused sectors.

With more than three decades of experience spanning journalism, corporate communications and strategic advisory roles, Anthea joins Knights MPR at a time of continued international growth for the agency and increasing demand from clients operating in complex and rapidly evolving markets.

Anthea’s career has been defined by helping organisations and leaders communicate effectively in environments where commercial, political, regulatory and reputational pressures increasingly intersect. Her expertise spans energy transition, offshore industries, decarbonisation, climate-related communications and emerging clean technologies.

Beginning her career in journalism, Anthea developed her editorial expertise at some of the United Kingdom’s most respected news organisations. She served as Deputy Chief Sub Editor at The Scotsman before joining Upstream, the internationally recognised oil and gas news publication, where she spent almost a decade in senior editorial positions, including Senior Sub Editor/Reporter and later Online Editor of UpstreamOnline.com.

During her time at Upstream, Anthea worked at the heart of the global offshore energy industry, reporting on major developments across oil and gas, shipping, offshore technology, investment and international energy markets. The experience provided a unique understanding of how complex technical, commercial and geopolitical issues are interpreted by media, investors, policymakers and industry stakeholders.

Building on this journalistic foundation, Anthea transitioned into senior communications and advisory roles with leading international organisations including TotalEnergies, Wood Mackenzie and the Oil & Gas Climate Initiative. Over the following two decades she advised executives and organisations on strategic communications, media engagement, stakeholder relations, crisis preparedness, corporate reputation and energy transition communications.

Today, Anthea is recognised for her ability to help organisations communicate effectively in complex and rapidly evolving sectors where commercial priorities, sustainability ambitions and public expectations increasingly converge.

At Knights MPR, Anthea will support clients across the agency’s maritime, offshore energy, industrial technology and sustainability portfolios, providing strategic communications counsel, executive visibility programmes, thought leadership development, media engagement support and reputation management guidance.

Jason Knights, Founder and Lead Director of Knights MPR, said:

“Anthea’s career spans both sides of the communications equation. She has worked as a journalist at the highest levels of the international energy media, including nearly a decade at Upstream, before going on to advise some of the world’s leading energy organisations. That combination of editorial understanding, industry knowledge and strategic communications expertise is exceptionally rare and enormously valuable for our clients.”

The appointment reflects Knights MPR’s ongoing investment in specialist expertise and reinforces the agency’s position as a trusted communications partner to organisations operating across global maritime, offshore energy, renewables, industrial technology and infrastructure markets.
